Mission/purpose of Union: The United Farm Workers of America is the nation's first successful and largest farm workers union currently active in 10 states. The UFW continues to organize in major agricultural industries across the nation. Recent years have witnessed dozens of key UFW union contract victories, among them the largest strawberry, rose, winery and mushroom firms in California and the nation.

-The new movie "Cesar Chavez" is a movie based on how Chavez made an impact on how farmers work today with better working advantages. The actor who plays Cesar was on Chavez' side at the time. He believes this movie is very inspirational to the Latino community.
-Mary Hayashi, who was convicted for shoplifting of more than $2,000, is running for the State Senate District seat. She has The United Farm Workers endorsement in her campaign. Arturo announced that she, "have demonstrated a strong commitment to the farmworker movement and helped improve the lives of farmworkers. We hold you in the highest regard and consider you to be an individual with platinum status in the eyes of farmworkers."
